About Us
Hotel Kavala started in 1989 as a summer holiday house for the family and close friends.
Pipergias family always loved to spend holidays in Thasos and it was a big dream to own their own holiday home on the island one day.
During a day trip in Thasos, grandfather Dimitrios found out by coincidence that a house, directly at the beach with a very big garden, was for sale. His son Stamatios and daughter in law Fotini took this opportunity immediately and from then on treated it like their second home. With lots of love and energy, everything was built and added on slowly.
This is how Hotel Kavala developed year after year, with the help of the whole family to be what it is best known for today:
It gives you the feeling of how it is to spend your holiday with your Greek family. It is a small authentic place, where you will be treated as a friend and where the hosts will try to fulfil all your wishes to make you feel at home.
The Team
The hosts of Hotel Kavala are three powerful women: Eleni, Monda & Evangelia.
Eleni is the good heart of the Hotel and has been working at Hotel Kavala for the last 20 years. She is responsible for the breakfast, the good atmosphere and will give you the feeling of being part of the family. She is an exceptionally warm and welcoming host.
Monda is Hotel Kavala’s pearl responsible for house keeping. She shines and keeps everything in shape for 10 years now. Her thoroughness and eye for details gives our rooms and facilities everyday a fresh, clean and homey feeling.
Evangelia is the youngest member. She took over the Hotel in 2018 and is now the 3rd generation to run the Hotel. She is the manager responsible for bookings, guest relations, activities, and many more. Her excellent language and communication skills will make it easy for you to get in contact and to plan your perfect holiday.

Besides our in-hotel services, Hotel Kavala loves to organise day trips and feel good events for you: e.g. private boat trips, horse riding at the beach, water sports, scuba diving, massage & yoga sessions, and finding for you the right place to have an unforgettable dinner experience.
Breakfast
We provide a daily homemade breakfast buffet. We only use fresh local products and ingredients from our lovely biological vegetable garden.
You will find standard continental, Greek traditional and daily creative dishes. Eleni, who is a fantastic cook, prepares the breakfast every day with much love and creativity.
Cheese, Feta cheese, turkey, salami, butter, tomatoes, Thasos olives, cucumber, boiled eggs, fresh fruits, homemade pastry and cakes, homemade marmalade, honey from Thasos, Müsli, orange juice, filter coffee, tea & water count to our daily standards.
Eleni can also prepare eggs (omelette, fried scrambled eggs) on demand.

Cafe Bar
In the centre of our spacious garden you will find our Bar. With sitting facilities under our big pine tree you can enjoy refreshments, coffee (warm & cold) classic drinks and cocktails.
The scenery will remind you of traditional Greek movie scenes and will give you the feeling of true Greek holidays.
The cosy atmosphere invites you to relax, read a book or to chat with other guests.

The Beach
Hotel Kavala is located just 50m from the beach of Dasilion Prinos, which offers authentic nature with transparent waters and has a blue flag award.
Natural shadow from pine trees provide the perfect place to relax. The region is well known about its pine forest and wild olive grove.
The sea is shallow with white sand in and out of the water making it appropriate for kids to swim and have a great holiday.
With a great length the beach is advantageous for long walks.
At the beach, you will find sunbeds and umbrellas for free and can have coffee / drinks on the spot. But there is also plenty of space for you to be on your own and enjoy the serenity and authenticity of the surrounding environment and crystal Aegean waters.
It is also famous for its breath-taking sunset. Looking over the sea to a mountainous mainland Greece, you are treated to one of the prettiest evening scenes you will see anywhere.
Thasos Island
Thasos is one of the greenest Greek islands in the Aegean Sea famous for its clean beaches, hospitality, its tasty olives & wine, magnificent honey and white marble.
The history of Thasos goes all the way back to antiquity. There are lots of places to visit in Thasos to get a sense of its rich history. Stories to tell from all of times world empires – the Persians, the Romans, Byzantines, Ottomans and of course ancient Greece.
Skala Prinos is the seaport of the village of Prinos in Thasos, on the island’s Northwest coast. Right next to Skala Prinos and along the coast after the port you will find Hotel Kavala in Dasilion Prinos.
The island’s Health Center is also located in Prinos.
Kavala International Airport
 “Alexander the Great” is located in Keramoti, which is a 30 minute ferry boat ride away from Thasos main city.
